Through the practice of Kintsugi, we will embrace the philosophy of wabi-sabi, and finally, through sustainable jewelry design, discover how accessories can embody the spirit of sustainability in everyday life.

▎Workshop Details

‧ Participants will take home a handmade pair of Kintsugi sea glass earrings (925 sterling silver studs or clip-ons) or a sterling silver necklace.
▎Workshop Overview
We begin with an introduction to Kintsugi, exploring its history and evolution in contemporary jewelry design. Participants will get familiar with the materials and tools before diving into hands-on practice.
During the Kintsugi jewelry-making session, we will introduce the concept of sea glass, guide you through selecting suitable pieces, and proceed with bonding the glass. Participants choosing earrings will also experience filing sterling silver earring posts (metalwork process), while necklace makers will follow a different workflow. This will be followed by applying gold powder to enhance the unique aesthetics of Kintsugi. Finally, earring makers will attach earring posts, while necklace makers skip this step, and all participants will complete their personal jewelry piece.
To conclude, we will discuss the principles of sustainable jewelry and reflect on the creative process through a showcase of participants’ work.

▎Workshop Guidelines
1. This is a creative, hands-on workshop. The focus is on the process rather than achieving a perfect final product. Thank you for embracing the spirit of experimentation.
2. All tools and materials will be provided, but if you have specific preferences (e.g., gold powder shade), please mention them during registration.
3. No refunds or rescheduling will be allowed on the day of the event. If you are unable to attend, your spot will be considered forfeited.
4. 925 sterling silver is used for the jewelry components. If you have metal allergies, please assess whether this workshop is suitable for you.
5. If fewer than 5 participants are registered two days before the event, Story Wear reserves the right to cancel the workshop. In this case, participants will be notified and given the option of rescheduling or receiving a full refund.
6. In the event of force majeure (e.g., natural disasters), Story Wear will proactively contact participants regarding postponements or refunds.
7. Photos and videos may be taken during the workshop. By participating, you agree to allow your image to be used for event documentation and promotional purposes.
8. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the staff on-site, and we will accommodate your request.
