"Fast fashion" refers to clothing brands launching large quantities of new and trendy clothing at frequent intervals and at low prices to attract consumers to purchase frequently. From design to production the issues behind the products includes design plagiarism, environmental damage, labour exploitation, over-production of goods and rapid replacement of items leading to a waste of resources. This also forms a consumer culture of over-purchasing and discarding items following short-term use.
This has led to environmental problems such as spreading landfills and incineration pollution. In Taiwan alone 438 pieces of clothing are discarded every minute.
"Slow Fashion" re-emphasises the connection between fashion, people, environment, and society. Product design is based on the principles of high durability and classic lines.Emphasising the skills and spirit of craitsmanship; products are produced according to demand, in small scale and produced locally. As a priority, we pay attention to the impact on the environment, labour and the community; when selling products, we encourage consumers to not only purchase but also to extend the lifecycle of clothing and consider recycling as part of that complete lifecycle.
